New friendships created through Home for the Pawlidayz
Zappos is kicking off its annual nationwide "Home for the Pawlidayz" program, which helps many more animals find their forever homes. In partnership with North Shore Animal League America, Zappos is sponsoring cat and dog adoptions this Black Friday weekend nationwide.
The Cheyenne Animal Shelter is the only shelter in the state of Wyoming to participate in this event. On Friday, November 24th pet lovers will be able to adopt animals for free at the Shelter, with the sale continuing through Sunday, November 26th.
Check-in on Friday will begin at 10 a.m. in the Community Room at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter located at 800 Southwest Drive. There will be several opportunities for engagement and entertainment for patrons waiting, including the Daily Press food truck, Starbucks coffee, face-painting and raffles.
This sale is not only good for the public and animals who will find new family members - but also the adoption fees will be reimbursed by Zappos, meaning the Shelter will be bringing in revenue as well as saving hundreds of animals. This is great news as the Shelter has seen larger numbers in animal intakes, an increase in costs due to hoarding cases and a decrease in funding by the City this year.
Cheyenne Animal Shelter Manager, Stephanie Bilbro says, "We're really excited to participate in this event. Last year when we did this, our average adoption numbers for the day more than doubled! It's great seeing so many animals in happy homes during the holidays and beyond."
